A Duel of Honour: Fighting in the Renaissance Period

Artspace Festival - Stage CombatCome and see a period re-enactment of sword-fighting methods used in the 17th Century.

The rapier and dagger were the number one weapons for gentlemen of the period. The Renaissance artist Caravaggio used just such a weapon in a duel he fought in Italy.

Come and see what it was like to fight with such weapons and why these techniques were often referred to as an art form. Bring lunch.

Peter Verdon is a professional qualified fencing master and stage fight choreographer.
