Speaker - John Heald

John Heald, a founder-member of The Betjeman Society. Currently Vice-Chairman, previously he was Secretary and then Chairman for six years. In one way or another, Sir John takes up most of his time.

John Heald shares with you his enjoyment of, and enthusiasm for, John Betjeman. He will read a selection of poetry and prose, play one or two recordings and, in discussion with you all, explain why he considers Sir John to be, not only an important poet, but also a major influence in our thinking about England and our notions of Englishness.
