Lunch & Learn: Poetry Reading

Part of the Regent's College Artspace Festival

Monday 22 March, 1.00-1.50 in Tuke 301

Artspace Festival - Poetry ReadingCatherine Davidson will read poems from her collection, Inheriting the Ocean.

She will talk about the creative inspiration she draws from being a Greek/Jewish, English/American writer, a mix that inspired her first novel, The Priest Fainted, a reworking of Greek myths to tell the story of three generations of Greek women, and her current work, The Floating Bride, a novel that uses the myth of Persephone to frame two turbulent marriages.

Expect poems about food, the body, grandmothers and art, and possibly a short passage about maggiritsa, the most challenging food in the Greek culinary repertoire. Bring your lunch with you.

"Production is a profoundly collaborative team process and any model that forces (people) to form a team and work together to make a film has to be good. I really think this practical element, even if just making a very simple short piece, is a huge plus to the course."
