LSFMP Welcomes First Cohort of Students
The new London School of Film, Media & Performance welcomed
its first students on Monday 21 June with twenty students joining
the MA Writing for Screen & Stage, a
two-year, part-time degree. This is a highly positive result,
against a target intake of ten students.
The students enjoyed a challenging and stimulating first
residential, with tutorials, discussions and presentations on
Approaching the Blank Page, Creating Character, Adapted Scripts and
Dramatic Structure. The week also included film screenings and a
memorable trip to see The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre.

from LSFMP's first cohort
New student, Paloma Casco, said: " My first
week was fantastic, I absolutely loved it. We had an intense time,
cramming in lots of information and ideas and projecting my
creative juices. Good jump start for the brain! I’m amazed at the
incredible facilities at our disposal and I feel tremendously lucky
to have the opportunity to study here ".
The degree is taught via a balance of distance learning and five
on-campus residential periods.

"The course is extremely focused, laying down and building upon a wide
range of practical skills via ingenious practical exercises: a very
welcome emphasis on industry practicalities."
