Acting Foundation Course Entry Requirements

To enter the Acting Foundation Course at LSFMP, students should have the following:

Academic Requirements

  • Five GCSE/IGCSE subjects or equivalent with grades A-C, including Maths and English
  • US High School Diploma 
  • HAVO 
  • Six WAECs with grades A-C (1-6)
  • Realschulabschluß
  • Apolytirion of Gymnasio
  • Attestat
  • Bachillerato (from Central and South America)

Or other international qualifications equivalent to the British General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSEs), as recommended by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC).

Please note, applicants for the Acting Foundation Course are not subject to audition.

English Language Requirements*

For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we require a recent pass in any of the following qualifications:

  • The in-house Regent's College English test
  • IELTS (minimum 5.5)
  • TOEFL (74 points in the internet-based test, 203 in the computer-based version, or 535 in the paper-based test). The TOEFL code for LSFMP is 2487. 
  • Cambridge Advanced English Certificate (grades A-C)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in English (grades A-C)
  • GCSE/IGCSE English Grade C or above
  • Minimum Grade 5 in the International Baccalaureate English -  Higher Level or Standard Level A1 or A2 (not B)
  • English C of the Avgangsbetyg with a VG or MVG
  • English grade 5 or 6 in the Vitnemål
  • 75% overall in all English components of the European Baccalaureate
  • EIKEN English test - Grade Pre 1

Non-EU/EEA Nationals

For students who are non-EU nationals and English is the not their native language, we will require the following qualifications in accordance with UK Border Agency guidelines**:

  • IELTS overall score 5.5, with a minimum of a 5.5 pass in all four components of the test
  • TOEFL with 87 points, showing a minimum pass of Reading - 18, Listening - 17, Speaking - 20, Writing - 17 (Please note that the paper-based TOEFL is not accepted by the UKBA)
  • Pearson Test of English  with an overall score of 50 and a minimum pass of 51 in all four components of the test
  • Cambridge Advanced English certificate with a grade C or above in all components of the test
  • GCSE English at Grade C or above, studied and taken in the UK on a student visa 

* This requirement may be waived if the last three years of the student's education were in English. LSFMP reserves the right to request an English proficiency certificate at our discretion.

** Please note these requirements are not only for academic purposes, but more importantly to meet the UKBA guidelines for a Tier 4 student visa.
