What should I provide as a 'sample of writing' and how long should it be?

We have had a range of submissions from successful students who have submitted a short journal article to students who created a full portfolio.

I graduated from school/university a long time ago; is it really necessary to provide an academic reference?

As part of the entry requirements, we ask students to submit one academic reference and second personal reference. We do however appreciate that this is not always possible, so for postgraduate applications, we would accept one personal and one professional reference.

These can be from previous/current tutors or previous/current employer. We also accept references professionals of your long-standing acquaintance (eg. doctors, lawyers, social workers, nurses, teachers).

There is no form for referees to fill out. Your referee should simply write a brief reference indicating the nature and duration of their relationship to you, and include a comment on your academic/professional capabilities.

Do I need to interview for a place on the programme?

Yes, we encourage all applicants to an arrange appointment with David Hanson, Course Leader and Head of School. It would be an informal interview, giving you the opportunity to find out more about the course and to discuss your eligibility for the programme.

Please contact us directly to schedule an interview.
