What are the differences between the two acting programmes?

At LSFMP, we offer 2 acting programmes:

  • An Acting Foundation Course
  • BA (Hons) Acting & Global Theatre

Acting Foundation Course

The Acting Foundation course is suitable for students with limited or no acting experience, or for those whose present academic qualifications do not allow direct entry onto the BA (Hons) level study.

BA (Hons) Acting & Global Theatre

This course is suitable for students with prior acting experience and whose present academic qualifications allow direct entry to BA (Hons) level study.

What is the duration and start dates of the programme?

The Acting Foundation course is a two-semester programme, which is one academic year.

You have the option of starting the programme in either January or September of each year.

Please note that whichever entry point you chose, you will finish the course in time to start the BA (Hons) Acting & global Theatre programme if you desire.

What is the difference between starting in January or September?

There is no difference in content or duration of the programme regardless of which start date is chosen.

The only difference is the length of your holiday/break between the two academic semesters.

How many places are there on the programme?

At the London School of Film, Media & Performance, we keep all our class sizes small to ensure a high level of interaction between yourself, the academics and your peers.

We accept a maximum of 25 students on this programme.

Do I need to audition?

No, you do not need to audition for a place on this programme.

Can I study the BA (Hons) Acting & Global Theatre programme after the Foundation Course?

Yes, once you have completed the Acting Foundation course you can apply for our 3 year BA (Hons) Acting & Global Theatre programme.

You will be guaranteed an audition should you decide to apply for this programme.

Will I have the opportunity to study abroad?

The Acting Foundation programme does not offer a study abroad option.

Can I undertake an industry placement?

To complement your academic study, you will have the opportunity to undertake a 4-6 week industry placement which will be assisted and overseen by our Careers and Business Relations Department.
