Module Descriptions

Level 2, Semester 1 - Direct tuition of 13 hours per week, accruing 60 credits (180 credits with level 1).

Film and the Producer

This module examines film as both a creative and commercial entity, and increases the student's understanding of this double-function by examining:

  • Methods of finance
  • Production
  • Distribution
  • Marketing
  • Sales

This is a 20 credit module, taught by Mark Allinson over 4 hours per week.

Television and the Producer

This module examines television as both a creative and commercial entity, and increases the student's understanding of this double-function by examining:

  • Methods of finance
  • Production
  • Distribution

This is a 20 credit module, taught by David Hanson over 4 hours per week.

Creating the Short Film Production

Students will work together in groups to write and produce a short screenplay, with a script based on a biographical subject. This module will teach:

  • Subject research
  • Adaption of biographical material into dramatic form
  • Production of short drama
  • Teamwork
  • Camera, lighting and sound recording skills

This is a 20 credit module, taught my David Hanson, with Tim Harrison and Juliet Alexander, over five hours of direct tuition per week.
