Module Descriptions

Level 2, Semester 2 - Direct tuition of 10 hours per week

One Hour Dramatic Script

In this module students will build on script skills gained in Level 1, and is designed to encourage them to develop their writer's voice through:

  • Exploitation of story structuring and characterisation
  • Advanced use of plot and character functions
  • Exploration of arena, dialogue, montage and timeframe

This module requires students to work more independently, and accrues 40 credits. Direct tuition of 6 hours per week is undertaken by David Hanson.

Industry Skills

Students will be introduced to the practical world of work in the creative industries, and prepares them for a 4 - 6 week work placement. In preparation, students will learn:

  • The ability to select an industry relevant to their skills, interests and abilities
  • Understanding of current working practices
  • Organisational and research skills
  • An insight into managing people and teams

This module is taught by Juliet Alexander over 4 hours per week.
