Module Descriptions

Level 3, Semester 1 - Direct tuition of 8 hours per week, accruing 60 credits.

Development of a Major Script Project

This module sees students develop their feature script project and demonstrate advanced expertise in:

  • Script planning
  • Story selection
  • Narrative construction
  • Handling of genre
  • The sense of 'grand scheme' required for a feature script
  • Development of a professional production strategy

The module is valued at 20 credits and is taught over 3 hours per week by David Hanson and Ian Farmer with input from other industry practitioners.

Creating and Producing a Five Minute Short Film

This module allows the student to act in a genuine decision make / comissioning producer capacity. Using skills derived from each of the prceeding modules, students are given a modest budget with which to realise a personally envisioned film.

The module is valued at 40 credits and is taught by David Hanson with Tim Harrison, Juliet Alexander and Judith Noble over fiver hours per week.
