Module Descriptions

Level 3, Semester 2 - Direct tuition of 6.5 hours per week, accruing 60 credits.

Completion of a Major Script Project

This module completes the the preceeding Developing of a Major Scrip Project from Semester 1.

Students must demonstrate advanced expertise in:

  • Story development
  • Cast design
  • Narrative structure
  • Plotting
  • Characterisation and character function
  • Use of arena
  • Dialogue
  • Visual exposition and narration
  • Exploitation of advanced scriptwriting skills

The module accrues 40 credits and is taught by David Hanson and Iain Farmer over 3.5 hours per week.

Professional Skills

This final module explores the future of the industry and reflects on the skills which will be in demand over the next 20 years.

The module also encourages students to analyse their individual skills and experiences, and to gauge how these best fit with existing and emerging trends.

This learning, alongside the completion of the feature script, is the approriate point to examine and evaluate the placement experience and to use it to influence the forward view towards the industry today and going forward.

This 20 credit module has direct tuition of 3 hours per week.
