Marguerite Dennis

Marguerite Dennis has served as a higher education administrator for more than 30 years, first at St. John’s University in New York, then at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and finally at Suffolk University in Boston.

Marguerite’s area of expertise is marketing higher education programs and developing strategic international plans for colleges and universities in the United States and around the world. As Vice President for Enrollment and International Programs at Suffolk University , Marguerite was responsible for the marketing, recruitment, financial aid, fundraising, alumni programs and all research related to marketing and admission.

While at Suffolk University Vice President Marguerite increased undergraduate and graduate student enrollment by 92% and increased international student enrollment by 400%. She was instrumental in establishing a branch campus in Dakar, Senegal and Madrid, Spain and increasing the number of study abroad programs from 20 to 50. She signed collaborative agreements with schools in Chongqing, China, Kyoto, Japan, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Tbilisi, Georgia and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Marguerite managed 15 directors and 100 staff and created a Center for International Education and a Board of International Advisors. She also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate School of Education at Suffolk University.

Marguerite is a nationally and internationally recognized expert on college marketing and recruitment, college financing and international strategic planning. She is the author of more than 100 articles on higher education administration and wrote “A Practical Guide to Enrollment and Retention Management in Higher Education,” “Trends in Higher Education,” “An Insider’s Guide to Financing a College Education,” and “An Insider’s Guide for International Students.”Marguerite has conducted a series of seminars for staff in the Department of State, through Education USA offices around the world and has conducted seminars on trends in international higher education in Germany, China, Taiwan, Czech Republic, South Africa, Italy and Korea.

Marguerite currently assists colleges and universities around the world in developing sustainable international strategic plans and lectures worldwide on trends in international higher education. She lives half a year in Naples, Florida and half a year on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with her husband Russ.

Marguerite became a trustee of Regent’s University London and is a member of the Estates and Infrastructure Committee.
