Good Design = Good Business

In this final-year project, students on the BA (Hons) Interior Design undertook the brief to develop a scheme for a new reception area that creates a positive welcome for students, staff, visitors and guests to the University campus in Regent’s Park.

Exhibition: 14 February 2017 - 25 March 2017

The main entrance area to the Regent’s campus on the Inner Circle in Regent’s Park plays a vital role for the University. It must function effectively for many types of user and create a positive first impression for visitors. It should also communicate the history, philosophy and ethos of the University.

Fitted out over seven years ago, the current entrance requires updating. It no longer adheres to strict fire regulations, and is a large area that is not being used efficiently. The size and the location of the reception desk in particular does not make the best use of the space.

The brief to students was to create an entrance that acts as a welcoming gateway to Regent's and represents the University as a forward-looking, international and progressive institution.

Final-year students undertook the work over six weeks on the IND603 Interior Design Study module.
