Professional Biography

Alyas is a visiting lecturer in BA (Hons) Global Business and Design Management at Regents Business School.  His lectures are focused on the importance of design in business.  They provide a platform for business students to investigate, examine and discuss ideas about how design practice can generate new ideas and discoveries that can lead to innovation in business.  Alyas specialises in teaching Project Management, Managing Design and Sustainability Innovation, Managing Design in Business, he is also a Dissertation Supervisor, Module Leader, Business Project Tutor and Academic Adviser.
Alyas Latif is Principal and senior designer of Alyas Latif Architecture, which he founded in 2012. He retains a direct hand on involvement in projects and has specific responsibility for establishing the strategic direction of projects monitoring their early implementation and carrying out internal audits to track their performance. He is also responsible for the design direction of all projects. 
Alyas believes that the impression of timelessness architecture can be created with uncompromising quality.  His' strength lies in his approach through leading multi-disciplinary design groups in order to achieve innovative design solutions.  He has developed a global strategy and is shaping the practice into one of the world's leaders in all aspects of architectural practice.
Alyas has served as Project Designer-in-Charge of many major domestic and international projects. He has International experience in Moscow, Milan, Jamaica, India, Dubai, Croatia and Libya.  Prior to AL/Architecture he has worked with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Llewellyn Davies Yang, Scott Brownrigg, Nightingale Associates, Greenhill Jenner Architects, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Regents Business School.  He gained his Master of Art in Architecture and Diploma in Architecture from University of Westminster and his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from University of Greenwich.
Alyas's achievements have been recognized, he was awarded Exemption with Merit in Design from University of Westminster for his Diploma in Architecture and was also awarded Building Design Journal's student of the year 2002.
