Professional Biography

Gianfranco Vento is an academic with an extensive experience in microfinance, banking regulation & supervision and risk management. Since 2007 he teaches at Regent's College, where he is also Director of the MSc GBF Research Cluster, member of the Academic Senate and Associate Director of the Regent's Centre for Transnational Studies; before to join the academic career, he used to be senior financial analyst in the Banking Supervision Department of the Bank of Italy.

Gianfranco has supervised 2 PhDs to completion and he is currently supervising 1 more PhD candidate.

Research Interests

Research interests include microfinance; banking regulation; liquidity and treasury management of banks; risk management; interbank market; credit guarantee institutions and SME finance; banking in developing countries; and environmental finance.
