Professional Biography

Dr Isidora Kourti has obtained her PhD in Organisational Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE). Her doctoral research was funded by the LSE Research Studentship scheme and followed a practice-based approach to examine inter-organisational collaborations. Her research demonstrated how partners through their (inter)actions and social relations build a collaborative identity and how they can manage constantly changing boundaries in a way that supports collaborative work.

Over the last seven years she has taken part in a number of research projects focusing on organisational processes and dynamics. InCaS (Intellectual Capital Statement) was an EU project with partners from 5 European academic institutes that explored knowledge sharing and transfer in SMEs. FLAME (Federated Local Access Management Environment) was a project run by the London School of Economics and funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC). The project examined identity management in Higher Education institutions. Diversified Teams project was conducted with the Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge and analysed decision making and conflict in diversified organisational teams.

Before joining Regent’s University London, she taught for 5 years courses in research methods and organisational psychology-related areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the London School of Economics and Birkbeck.

Research Interests

Even though traditional organisational studies focus on the individuals (micro approach) or organisational aspects forgetting the individuals (macro approach), Isidora takes a distinct social psychological approach to examine organisations. She argues that in order to examine organisational phenomena in dynamic and processual terms, it is necessary to follow a relational approach where micro and macro organisational processes cannot be explored in isolation. Following this perspective, her current research efforts concentrate on organisational processes, practices, spatial dynamics and temporal organising, with a particular focus on the way organisations and collaborations adapt to dynamic contexts.
