As Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), John Cridland is the key spokesman for the business community in the media, on public platforms and with government. He leads the CBI – the voice of business – in the UK and represents it internationally.

Former Deputy Governor, Financial Stability, Bank of England

Former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England and member of the Monetary Policy Committee. He had specific responsibility for the Bank of England’s Financial Stability work and is a member of the Board of the FSA. From 2001 to the end of 2005 he was the Permanent Secretary of the Home Office.

John Taylor joined Acas in 2001 as its first Chief Executive having been part of the team in the mid 1970s which set up the modern service. John’s background is in the public sector where he has been involved in training,economic development, rural development and employment relations.

Director of the Institute of Contemporary European Studies

A former UK diplomat in Paris, Kuwait and Bucharest, John has held the positions of Director of International Corporate Affairs at Rank Xerox and Director of European Affairs at Touche Ross International. He has been the Representative of the European Commission in the UK and is the Director of the Institute of Contemporary European Studies at Regents College London.
