Laurence Barrett has been Director of Group Resourcing & Development for Prudential plc since March 2006. In this role he is responsible for developing the leaders and leadership across the Group, delivering a performance culture and a long term talent pipeline.
He joined the Group from Abbey National where he was Director of Resourcing and Development, working as part of the senior team responsible for the turnaround of the business and its sale to Banco Santander SA.
Prior to this, he worked internationally across a number of industry sectors in a variety of internal and external consulting roles focusing on organisation and leadership development. He has been involved in the restructuring of a number of HR functions and the long-term strategic development associated with this.
Laurence began his career at British Airways as a graduate entrant after studying law at Warwick University. He holds an MBA from the University of Lancaster and a Certificate in Coaching for Leadership and Professional Development Coaching from the Tavistock Institute.
Laurence became a Trustee of Regent’s College in October 2010 and is a member of the Audit Committee.
