Regent’s Club review of the year

Regent's Club is a new network of alumni groups all over the world that was launched in 2011 and has been steadily growing ever since.

Last year we launched of 12 new clubs including Washington, San Francisco, UAE, Hong Kong and Mumbai. We can now boast more than 20 clubs across four continents and we are looking forward to expanding the network even further.

We were also excited to see launches in Sofia, Moscow, and Milan, as well as opportunities for gatherings in Guadalajara, Mexico and Kazakhstan where we had our international officers travelling to the region. With re-launches and meetings of existing clubs, we’re pleased to have had more than 23 Regent’s Club meetings throughout the year. None of this would have been possible without the help of our Regent’s Club Alumni Co-ordinators.

As well as visits from members of the Alumni Relations team, we’ve also had other key staff join Regent’s Club meetings, from the Dean of HASS, Judith Ackroyd, visiting New York in December, to Director of External Relations, Judith Lamie’s visit to Geneva in November. We’re always keen to have representation from Regent’s University London when we can to give a flavour of recent developments on campus.

Warm welcome

Our Regent’s Clubs have been hosted in venues that have ranged from exhibition previews at art galleries, a speak-easy bar in San Francisco, the dizzying heights of the Sevva Bar in Hong Kong and the stylish Victorian House in Munich. The most popular venue across all clubs this year proved to be the Buddha Bar, with meetings happening here across 3 countries - in London, Moscow and UAE.

We have worked closely with our International Office to ensure that we invite students on their placement to all Regent’s Club meetings and increase the diversity of our groups.

Visiting other clubs when travelling

Remember that we have a rolling schedule of events in cities across the globe throughout the year, so if you are travelling for business, or visiting friends, remember to keep an eye on the events page, to see if an event might be taking place in the area you are visiting.

We now have a dedicated page for all our Regent’s Club events so keep checking it for all the latest updates. You can also see photos from our Regent's Club events on the alumni facebook page
