Scholarship profile: Stephanie Dagg

Stephanie Dagg, international events management student and bursary recipient, tells us about why she chose Regent’s and her course, her experience so far, and gives advice to future applicants.

Regent’s was the only place in the UK that offered the Events Management programme with language study, time abroad and work experience. The grounds are incredible, the location is so convenient and everyone that I met on the open day was lovely. I also like that the tutors and students come from diverse backgrounds.

I cannot wait to go abroad! Firstly to university in France to practice my language skills and experience their own student way of life, and then the following term I am hoping to work in New York as part of my Placement Learning Project. I don’t know any other university where that is possible so I am so chuffed that I picked Regent’s.

There are so many opportunities in this programme, including residential trips to course related venues to meet people and get your name out there. I’m also looking forward to learning more about other cultures through the new friends that I am making here.

This scholarship has enabled me to experience everything that Regent’s has to offer. I feel like an investment for the University and I don’t want to let them down, so it has also inspired me to work harder. As well as Regent’s life in London, I get help during the study abroad periods so that the transition is as smooth as possible.

Advice for future Bursary applicants:

DO IT! There is nothing to be lost and if you’re successful it gives such a confidence boost. As well as that, it gives such a sense of pride. The only thing holding anybody back from applying is themselves; it’s easy and so so rewarding!!!
