Courses at Internexus

The minimum age for all courses at Internexus London is 16. There is a maximum of 15 students per class with an average of 10-12 students per class.

General English Courses

  • Year-round courses
  • From 2 to 48 weeks
  • Pre-intermediate to Advanced
  • Important no classes at elementary level
  • Classes run from Monday to Friday

Students can combine a three-hour class of General English with two specific afternoon  classes.

Intensive 27 hrs

Semi Intensive 15 hrs am / pm

Morning classes (am)

  • 09.15 - 12.30

This is a balanced, communicative class balancing the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, as well as focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and aspects of British culture. Students receive a progress report every four weeks.

Afternoon classes (pm)

  • 13.30-16.45

There are 2 classes in the afternoons. These classes focus on particular aspects of English, e.g. Academic English; Business English; writing skills; pronunciation. The classes change every 2 weeks. On Fridays there is a workshop for guided study: there is a teacher on hand and extensive resources available for students' use.

Academic IELTS Exam Preparation Courses

Many of our students need to improve their English skills to start degree programmes at Regent's College. We have an excellent success rate in training students for the IELTS exam and in providing them with the skills they need for university in the UK.

IELTS is a widely accepted qualification for university entrance in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. This course focuses on:

  • Writing essays
  • Understanding academic texts
  • Increasing vocabulary
  • Exam techniques
  • Listening skills for lectures
  • Discussing, debating and presenting

Cambridge Exam Courses

Internexus offers First Certificate of English (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced (CAE) preparation classes. These are run on demand.

Pre-Sessional Courses 

The course is for students who are going on to academic study at university in the UK. It combines development of study techniques with a grounding in academic language. Students should already have their necessary English score for college entrance before starting this course.

Business English Courses

  • 25 hours per week
  • 2 week modules
  • Upper intermediate

Every summer Internexus offers a programme of short business courses in conjunction with the Business and Management Faculty. These two-week courses are aimed at students who have not previously studied business. Each course combines morning classes of Business English taught by Internexus, with afternoon lectures introducing a business subject, taught by BaM lecturers.

One to One Courses

This course is designed for the busy individual who wishes to maximize their time in London. The syllabus is tailored to meet the specific needs of the student.

Internship Programmes

Students first take a full-time English course followed by a full-time unpaid work placement. Work placements are allocated on arrival and can be arranged in almost any sector: administration, finance, marketing, engineering, etc.* Students are able to improve their English and gain important international work experience. Certificates are given from both the English course and the placement.

Important non-EU students must study at NQF level 6 (degree level) to enrol on this programme. Students from outside the EU must enter the UK on a General Student Visa to do this programme. Required level is upper intermediate to advanced.
