Regent's Club Brussels: Alumni Co-ordinator Profile

Regent's Club Brussels is part of the network of Regent's University London alumni groups based in cities all over the world. This group provides an opportunity for you to network with other alumni based in Bucharest and the surrounding area.

Name: Vic Vanhove

Course studied: MBA in International Business – EBS LONDON

Year of graduation: November 2008

Languages spoken: Dutch (Native), English (Fluent), French (Fluent) and German (Professional Level)

Current Position: I am currently Area Sales Manager within SAGE BeLux.  SAGE is a British international software developer with a focus on Bookkeeping,  ERP and CRM (www.sage.com). With our solutions towards the SME market, we became world market leader.

My current responsibility is steering on an indirect team (account managers + resellers) of about 40 co-workers. Hereby, I am the end responsible on the overall strategy for all Flemish provinces in Belgium on all Sage Products: Sage Bob 30, Sage Bob 50, Sage Bob 50 Expert, Sage 100, Act! , Sage CRM and Sage SalesLogix.

Besides, I am a co-founder of the international NGO YOUBRIDGE which is nowadays perceived as the Facebook of the social purpose by really narrowing down the digital divide.

Favourite memories of Regent’s College:

  • Being vice-president of the EBS Consulting Club.
  • Being part of several diverse multicultural teams where I had the chance to work with an international cohort from literally every corner of the world.
  • The unique business school environment and student body Regent’s College is breathing out.
  • Becoming a cosmopolitan with a study-abroad period in Hong Kong.
  • Sharpening further on my language skills by becoming trilingual.

What do you hope to achieve as alumni co-ordinator for Regent’s Club Brussels?:

I hope to become the forerunner of the very first installed Regent’s Club.  My aim is to create an informal and (inter)national experience platform where like-minded alumni are meeting each other on a 2-month basis. A platform which empowers the Regent’s alumni cohort as a whole by inviting interesting speakers, gatherings on a unique location and visits to special events.

On top of that, I would like to create a Pan-European platform between all different Regent’s Club hubs in the world by organising one international gathering on a yearly basis in one of the existing hubs and a board meeting twice a year with all other Regent’s Club co-ordinators where we learn from each other.

The overall aim of all Regent’s Clubs throughout the world should be an empowerment platform where alumni individuals can learn from each other, build up crucial business networks and help each other towards the next level they hope to achieve or aspire.

Finally, I see this role as an ideal challenge to be a passionate Regent’s College ambassador, to maintain close contact with all faculty members and to gain knowledge from this Regent’s Business Club platform to bring myself in an international business role in the following decade with a continental (e.g. EMEA) responsibility.
