Professional Biography

Dr Seyedeh Asieh H. Tabaghdehi earned her Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from Brunel University London. She is senior lecturer and Head of BA Global Management Programme - Finance pathway. Dr Tabaghdehi is a module leader in quantitative finance, energy risk management and MSc research methods and dissertation, and also develop and support initiatives in the field of energy, economics and finance to promote research, enterprise and scholarship engagement. 

Dr Tabaghdehi started her academic career as lecturer in 2008. She joined Regents University London in January 2015 as a senior lecturer.  She is well experienced in supervising undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD applicants in the fields of economics and finance. Her area of research includes time-series analysis, modelling non-stationary time series, cointegration and exogeneity, corporate finance, risk management, alternative asset management and wealth management, financial modelling, market structure and competition analysis, and price analysis and arbitrage. Dr Tabaghdehi has been invited to several international conferences and professional seminar series to present her research work to other academics and researchers. She has exceptional passion about collaborating academic research to a policy audience and corporate decision-makers.

Dr Tabaghdehi is on the editorial board of the of journal of Organisational Studies and Innovation, and also reviewer of the Journal of Energy Policy and International Journal of Business Performance Management. She is member of Energy Institute, member of UK Economic Network and fellow member of the Higher Education Academy.

Research Supervision

Dr Tabaghdehi is well experienced in supervising undergraduate students in the area of finance and international business, and MSc students in the are of economics, finance and energy management. She also supervised two PhD applicants in the fields of finance and management at Cardiff Metropolitan University as an external expert.

Research Interests

Dr Tabaghdehi's area of research includes time-series analysis, modelling non-stationary time series, cointegration and exogeneity, wealth management, corporate finance, alternative investment market, stock market analysis, financial modelling, market structure and competition analysis, and price analysis and arbitrage. Her consultancy interest lies in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management.

Teaching & Course Development

Dr Tabaghdehi teaching experience is in a variety of subjects in Economics and Finance, and her current primary teaching focus is in Quantitative Finance and Investment, Wealth Management, Finance and Energy Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Modelling, and Research Methods and Data Analysis. Her teaching experience includes teaching and supervising on undergraduate, post-graduate, PhD and post experience executive programmes. 

Asieh designed three new modules of Financial Risk and Structured Finance, Analytical tools and Techniques in Finance, Quantitative Finance and Investment at undergraduate level, and Research Methods and Data Analysis at Postgraduate level.

Examining

Dr Tabghdehi participated actively in examining undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of economics, econometrics, risk management, corporate finance, wealth management and financial modelling.
