Elisavet Tapini

Elisavet is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in private practice and a Visiting Lecturer with HASS at Regent's University London. Elisavet retrained as a psychologist after extensive involvement in theatre and performance. She started getting involved in research and academic teaching since she was an undergraduate and developed a special interest in research on social exclusion, migration issues and identity. Her decision to specialise in counselling psychology reflected her desire to combine academic research and teaching with applying psychological knowledge in everyday settings, ranging from the social sector and voluntary organisations to delivering counselling and psychotherapy in private practice.

Elisavet has experience in delivering psychology modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with an emphasis on Counselling Psychology, History & Philosophy of Psychology, Psychology and Culture, Abnormal Psychology, Personality Theory, and Qualitative Research Methods. She also works as an academic supervisor for DCousnPsy students, and has acted as an internal examiner for the DCounsPsy at Regent's University London.

Elisavet has a special interest in the Psychology of Skilled migration and has published her prior research with Skilled Returnees with LAPD Academic Publishing. She got involved with the Grundtvig Project for Migrants and Returnees in Europe with Regent's School of Psychotherapy & Psychology at Regent's University London and presented findings and ongoing research relevant to the project.
