Inaugural Teaching Forum

Google Expeditions: Virtual Reality, Education and RUL

Friday October 21, 2016

The Teaching Forum will provide a monthly time and space dedicated to teaching and learning and improving our practice. It will include both short, pre-planned 'show-and-tell' sessions, showcasing good ideas, but also an opportunity for staff to bring teaching problems and have them brainstormed by the group. Technology-enhanced learning staff and members of the Academic Practice Hub will be present to offer advice and/or facilitate the conversations.

In the inaugural session, we hear from Zoetanya Sujon and Chris Rowell on Regent's recent experience with Google Expeditions, virtual reality designed for the classroom.

The learning technology team filmed staff interviews about their epxerience with Google Expeditions, which will be available shortly.

In presentation below, Zoetanya Sujon introduces the current role of VR in education and identifies key findings from participant observation and survey research conducted during our time with Google Expeditions.
