Regent’s is a leading training institution for psychology, psychotherapy, counselling psychology and mediation. Our programmes offer a seamless training route to professional practice, enabling you to gain all the accreditations necessary to work in the fields of your choice.
If you are interested in why people think, feel and act as they do, then psychology is the subject for you. With options at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, you will gain a wealth of insight into how human beings function, explore the application of psychology to key social issues, and learn how to put scientific knowledge to practical use in many different fields, such as sport, health, education and the justice system.
We teach a range of theoretical perspectives in an open and constructively critical way. We encourage you to analyse and assess different views, applying academic rigour at all times. This enables you to develop the skills you need to meet the professional challenges of a rapidly evolving field, and make informed choices about your own career and practice.
We understand the personally challenging nature of these professions and offer you a supportive learning environment to match. Classes are typically small and set at the optimum size for the type of learning activity. You will learn from highly qualified academic staff, many of whom are also in professional practice, offering a depth and diversity of experience and expertise. You will also have the best tools at your disposal to enhance your learning, with excellent library resources and practical facilities for scientific enquiry, such as equipment for eye-tracking and recording of psycho-physiological measures like brain activity, heart rate and galvanic skin response.
At Regent’s you can complete all your professional training in one place. From foundation level, you can continue all the way to postgraduate and professional qualification. You will also gain all the accreditation you need to qualify for professional practice. Our psychotherapy and counselling programmes lead to professional membership of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Depending on the path you choose, you will also be eligible for accreditation with other professional bodies, including the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
