Professional Biography

Alexander has been working in international development, post-conflict reconstruction and strategy for almost 20 years. Specialising in Mission advance, large-scale humanitarian aid (food relief, refugee management and repatriation), transitional elections/independence referenda, and nation-building, he has served in over ten UN peacekeeping missions around the world.  Now, as a freelance consultant, his clients include UN agencies, the World Bank, EU,  large international charities and NGOs.  He also speaks regularly on international politics, strategy and complex system theory, and teaches International Relations at universities in Washington DC and London.
