Panel discussion on the third Regent’s Report - Europe’s Neighbours: from Morocco to Moscow.
Registration from 17:45 at Herringham Hall
Lecture 18:30-19:45 at Tuke Hall followed by a reception
Distinguished speakers will comment on the University’s third Regent’s Report. Twenty experts have contributed chapters on relations between the European Union and its neighbouring countries to the South and East.
The event will be chaired by Professor John Drew, Chancellor of Regent’s University London and Director of the Institute of Contemporary European Studies.
Federica Mogherini, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security of the European Union writes in her introduction to the Report:
“Europe must look outwards – this has never been as clear as it is today. The crises at our borders impact on our everyday life.
It is not just about the unprecedented flow of refugees into our continent. From energy security to the risk of radicalisation in our societies, the European Union, has a strong and urgent interest in a stable and peaceful neighbourhood.
To face the current challenges we need partners, and strong ones. In these times, we cannot simply reflect on what we can do for our neighbours. We must reflect on what we can do with our neighbours, independent research and thinking – that is, the very aim of this Report – is a crucial first step.”
