A lecture with Carl Turner - Founder of Carl Turner Architects.

Location: First Floor studio, Paddington Street Building

Carl Turner Architects was formed in 2006, and has established a reputation for high-impact, low-cost architecture. The practice was recently recognised as one of the best offices producing small projects (below £1m) finishing joint runner-up in the small project category of the Architect of the Year awards 2012. In 2013 they went on to win the award in the ‘One-off house’ category.

This is the second of four talks, which are based on a book Mark Gower is writing called ‘Thinking Through Making’.

The book focuses on four prominent designers’ methods and ethos of solving design problems is through making and features four projects that sit within the diverse realm of interior architecture and design: a home, an exhibition, an installation and a piece of furniture. Carl and Mark will be discussing the process of ‘thinking through making’, using Carl’s award-winning ‘Slip House’ as the focus of the conversation.
