A lecture with Jason Bruges, Founder of Jason Bruges Studio.
Location: First Floor studio, Paddington Street Building
Jason Bruges is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer whose work blends architecture with interaction design. Using a high-tech, mixed-media palette, he is passionate about creating site-specific pieces that engage people with their environments.
Jason trained as an architect at Oxford Brookes University and the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. He worked with Foster + Partners before moving to Imagination as a senior interaction designer.
In 2002 Jason set up his own practice and now works on interactive projects worldwide with a talented team of architects, lighting designers, interaction designers and visualisers, as well as specialists in electronics, programming and project management.
Jason Bruges Studio has become internationally renowned for producing innovative installations, interventions and ground-breaking works. The practice creates interactive spaces and surfaces that sit between the world of architecture, site-specific installation art and interaction design.
High-profile projects include an art installation for No. 10 Downing Street and the world’s highest art installation for the Shard, an award- winning distraction artwork at Great Ormond Street Hospital, for children on route to surgery, a digital arts project for Tate Modern, and several artworks for the London 2012 Olympics.
