Regent's Institute of Languages and Culture is proud to host The 12th BCLTS international conference on teaching & learning Chinese at Regent’s University London, Regent's Park campus.
The British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS) is an organisation of Chinese language teachers in the High Education institutions in the UK. It is a sub-group of the British Association for Chinese Studies (BACS).
The primary role of BCLTS is to work to enhance the quality of research and teaching and learning of Chinese as a foreign language at British High Education institutions. The BCLTS holds an annual conference each year. The conference welcomes international and UK based participants, both members and non-members.
The BCLTS Conferences provide an international platform for colleagues specialised in Chinese language teaching from all over the world to meet and share their expertise and experience in the field. Regent's Institute of Languages & Culture works closely with BCLTS in promoting Chinese language teaching and learning. The Associate Head of the Department of Languages and Cross Cultural Studies Linda Li is the present Chair of BCLTS.
Regent's Institute of Languages & Culture offers a varied programme of language learning and support. Chinese language is the third largest language programme of the nine languages provided in the Institute with over 30 students each year choosing Chinese as a pathway.
The new BA International Business and Chinese Studies programme will start September 2014. This is a four years joint honours degree with 1 year studying abroad in China in our prestige partner universities: Tsinghua University, Beijing Language and Cultural University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang Gongshang University and Qingdao University.
