Join us for a discussion about leadership in Pakistan and the country’s role in the region.

Dr Kiran Hassan is a Pakistan expert who has conducted extensive fieldwork in the country. She has presented papers at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Washington (IISS) and the South Asia Democratic Forum.

In her lecture Dr. Hassan will discuss:

  • Domestic security in Pakistan and the challenge of the Taliban
  • India–Pakistan border tensions, rivalry, and the impact on bilateral political consensus
  • Afghanistan-Pakistan relations following the NATO withdrawal
  • Regional economic and transnational connectivity regarding trade, natural resources, and development
