Nogeman Korner

For final-year student Ebba Nogeman Korner, Regent's BA (Hons) International Events Management was her dream course at her dream university. She's particularly enjoyed her work placements and study periods abroad, as well as being Events Officer and then Vice-President of the Student Union.

Nationality: Swedish
Programme: BA (Hons) International Events Management

I chose to study at Regent’s because of the programme design. It had all I dreamed of: exchange year, language, work experience, events theory and an international environment yet based in central London. Once I entered those doors four years ago during one of open days I was sold. I knew I wanted to be part of the Regent’s community.

"A great opportunity"

On the BA (Hons) International Events Management I have gained theoretical knowledge about the many aspects of the events industry, as well as practical work experience. I have had various work placements during my time at Regent’s, in Sweden, the UK, Kenya and Qatar. The wide range has given me a good foundation from which to enter the job market.

I divided my exchange year between Pace University in New York and Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. Living abroad and being able to experience other cultures and languages is a great opportunity and very exciting. During my year abroad I enjoyed being able to add modules outside of my major, meeting new friends, as well as experiencing the cities and all that they had to offer.

"A valuable experience"

I chose early on to engage with the Student Union and have been an active executive member since my first semester. I have had the opportunity to put the theory from my modules into practice through my daily activities in the union. It has been interesting but also challenging to find a balance between my studies and work – a valuable experience.

I have truly enjoyed being a part of the student community here at Regent’s. There are so many activities on campus, ranging from guest lectures and industry visits to various social events. Having central London just outside has been ideal as an events student, as there are so many great events taking place every week!

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Halloween Party hosted by the Student Union at the Roof Gardens as well as attending the guest lecture Building a Network of Pioneering Women.

I have been in contact with the Careers & Business Relations department throughout my academic career here at Regent’s. Not only have I attend many of their events, but I have taken part in their CV clinics, LinkedIn seminar, and more.

"I have grown as an individual"

Studying in London, I have improved my English and grown as an individual while creating my life here, as well as benefiting from the many opportunities that I have had to attend events all around the city and the UK.

I have benefited greatly by being part of such an international community. I have developed great intercultural skills as well as a deeper understanding of various different cultures.
