Nurudeen Kyari is studying international business at Regent's and enjoying being back in London, having lived here previously, before university. He has undertaken an internship at Selfridges and is particularly looking forward to studying abroad in his second year.
Programme: BA (Hons) International Business with Finance & French
I decided to study here because of the course, and because the campus is beautiful and in a great location. A decisive factor in choosing the programme I’m on was the option of a period of study abroad.
So far, I’ve gained not only greater knowledge, but a vast range of practical skills, that I will be able to implement in a working environment, such as delivering presentations.
The most interesting aspect of my studies is the emphasis on developing students’ skills for the workplace in the future, as opposed to other institutions where it is solely theory. I interned as a menswear buyer for Selfridges last summer – an eye-opening experience, as they are a hugely respected corporation. I had completed modules at Regent’s that concentrated on the use of Microsoft Excel, which helped me to complete my internship successfully.
The thing I’ve most enjoyed about student life at Regent’s is the wide range of people you can meet on campus. Students come from all walks of life and exciting countries. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning to see things in a different light due to the conversations I've held with people from different parts of the world.
