Regent’s University London is set to launch its new School of Fashion & Design on Tuesday 2 December 2014 with an electric showcase of student work and catwalk performances.
Guests will be hosted at the University’s newly refurbished Paddington Street building and Marylebone Theatre, a former 19th Century Church which has been transformed as part of a wider investment in high-specification design studios and teaching space for the creative arts.
The evening will feature exhibitions of interior design, graphics, illustration, fashion, digital media and foundation work, with Regent’s students, staff, graduates, media and other industry VIPs from around the world in attendance.
Gill Stark, Head of the School of Fashion & Design at Regent’s University London, comments:
“Our new Paddington Street design studios and refurbished Marylebone Theatre offer the perfect setting to highlight our School’s achievements. We are very excited to share our exhibitions and catwalk shows, which will give an excellent insight into the talent of future fashion and design professionals.”
Highlights at the occasion include a Fashion Show with the theme of ‘FOLK,’ while the ‘Design Hub’ studio will open its doors for visitors to view BA Communication Design students’ work-in-progress, which includes a simulated ad campaign for Pritt Stick set by M&C Saatchi creatives, and developmental work for the Royal Society of the Arts international design competition. Interior Design students will also be showing a range of work that includes proposals for a temporary ‘Pop-Up’ Pavilion in Regent’s Park and a Hair Salon & Styling Lounge in Soho.
