How Regent's can help students achieve their career goals

Did you know that Regent’s students have unlimited access to professional one-to-one consultations with a Careers Advisor?

“It’s all part of the service we offer to help students achieve their career goals,” says Matthias Feist, Regent’s Employability & Student Enterprise Manager.

"We want to help them identify their skills, interests and abilities and, by doing so, make more informed career decisions.”

Student speaking to careers advisor

It's easy to book an appointment to see a Careers Advisor on the Student Hub.

Matthias says: “The Careers Advisor asks students whether they have an idea about what interests them – that's really important. Once the advisor knows what interests them, then they can go on to other questions. Are you an entrepreneur? Do you want to work for someone else?”

The careers team also offers a range of workshops designed to help students find and apply for jobs and increase their employability.

“Our support for applications and LinkedIn profiles in workshops and at one-to-one appointments is really popular,” says Matthias.

“Students only have one chance to make a good impression on an employer, so it’s essential that their writing makes an impact. We have lots of useful tips to help students get to the interview stage.

“And once students get an interview, they can see us for an interview training appointment to help them prepare. Interview preparation is vital if candidates are to perform successfully - we’ll show students how to research and what to expect. We’ll even take them through common interview questions.”

Workshops are available to all students, and places can be booked on the Student Hub.

“The sooner students get in touch with us, the better,” says Matthias. “But whatever stage a student is at in their time at Regent’s, we can help them become who they really want to be.”
