Innovative LinkedIn competition increases employability for Regent’s students

Two Regent’s University London students have been recognised for outstanding LinkedIn profiles at the Regent’s BAGM LinkedIn Profile of the Year Competition.

Winner of the competition first year student Luca Ilacqua who is undertaking a BA (Hons) Global Financial Management degree was presented with a certificate at a special award giving event. Luca will receive a two hour exclusive mentoring session with Regent's alumnus, Business Strategist and Entrepreneur Kenneth Castiel.

Runner up Guilherme Simao who is in his second year of a BA (Hons) Global Business Management degree was also awarded with a certificate at the event. Both students will additionally receive LinkedIn coaching sessions with Regent’s Senior Business Developer Julian Childs and vouchers at the university’s brasserie.

Luca Ilacqua said: 'I am very proud to win this competition which has highlighted the importance of having a good LinkedIn profile. Excellent communication and marketing your skills is vital in the business world and I would encourage everyone to work on their profiles to increase their chances of engaging with employers and finding work.'

Head of Careers and Business Relations Matthias Feist said: 'We are delighted to be able to recognise these two very talented students for their hard work and for helping to raise awareness about the key elements a good LinkedIn profile needs to have.

'At Regent’s we are always working hard to find innovative ways to support employability. The students were able to access face-to-face LinkedIn consultations and workshops organised specially around the weeks of the competition. Our dedicated Careers department is also always at hand to offer guidance to all students as they prepare for life after university.'
