awards first Dr Nicholas Bowen Award for Excellence

Congratulations to Roxanne Taku, the very first recipient of the inaugural Dr Nicholas Bowen Award for Excellence.

Roxanne received the award for her outstanding academic performance and spirit described in her essay, a response to the following question: “The Award is given for academic excellence, commitment to internationalism and the ability to build community spirit amongst the student body.

"How have you demonstrated these attributes in your time at Regent’s and how would you enhance these attributes through your upcoming Study Period Abroad?”

Regent’s University London was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Nicholas Bowen, a long-standing member of the Regent’s family, on 17 September 2017.

Dr Bowen had worked at Regent’s for more than 25 years. His enthusiasm for languages and internationalism made him the ideal person to lead the European Business School’s BAIB. Dr Bowen was absolutely devoted to creating the best experience for students, both while they were studying here and also helping them to develop their careers after graduating. Thousands of alumni thank Dr Bowen for the support that he gave to them over the years.

The University worked with his family, alumni and some internal staff on the Dr Nicholas Bowen award, which is to be given to a student who demonstrates outstanding performance on the BA (Hons) International Business.
