Regent’s Club Amsterdam’s big leap

29 February 2012, a ‘leap day’ and the day of the launch of Regent’s Club Amsterdam. EBS London alumna Anne Larue (1986) got the first get-together going at Café de Jaren, a well-known, airy waterfront café in the heart of Amsterdam. David Whitaker, the Head of Alumni Relations made the 45 minute journey across from London City Airport to be with the latest Regent’s Club to launch.

Amsterdam is the home and work place for many of our earliest alumni and we were joined by alumni from the 1980s as well as two from recent years.  The conversation was wide-ranging from catching-up with fellow alumni not seen for years to the changes that the College had seen and our plans for the alumni relations programme and Regent’s Clubs globally.

Everyone attending was pleased they’d made it – and the evening produced not only a great deal of fun and a commitment to keep the Club meeting regularly but even some new business contact amongst the group.  The team here are looking forward to catching up with Anne, Gwendolyn, Harald, Sino, Olivier, Karin, Joost and Alex along with more members who couldn’t make the first session very soon.  Thanks for a great launch to our latest Regent’s Club!

Our next launch moves us beyond Europe for the first time. Regent’s Club New York has its first get-together on Thursday 5 April. If you would like to join an existing Regent’s Club or to start one near you then visit the alumni web pages for more details.
