This month we bring you another fantastic new project from a talented alumni entrepreneur. Despite only finishing his MA Entrepreneurial Management this year, Jens couldn’t wait to put his knowledge to good use. After refining his ideas at the Alumni Dragons’ Den, Jens has launched O-food alongside fellow alumnus, Roel Philippart.
What’s the Big Idea?
An eco-friendly, healthy vegetarian and seafood concept called O-food. O-food is fast cuisine. Fast food with gourmet aspirations, because creating a better world should taste really good. Thus we have two highly experienced Danish gourmet chefs develop the menu. You can find more about o-food at o-food.co.uk or facebook.com/fastcuisine.
What made you want to become an entrepreneur?
I've always known I wanted to start my own thing. I'm not good at repetitive work and I like meeting new people all the time. I've also travelled a lot and seen a world full of beauty, but also cruelty and injustice. I believe that business is one of the most vital ways to catalyse positive change. As such, I don't create companies that exist to make profits - they must make profits to exist, and exist to meet social and environmental priorities. I'm deeply inspired by people like Steve Jobs and Richard Branson that both start companies with meaning.
Do you think there is an entrepreneurial spirit at Regent's College?
I definitely think there is entrepreneurial spirit at Regent's, and think it's a unique place to make connections and get a new venture off the ground.
O-food launches as a pop-up on 2 August at 54 Rivington Street in Shoreditch, London to prove that the world is ready for O-food.
