Gerald Ashley is a leading thinker and consultant on business ri sk and decision making. He is also a well-known speake r on the benefits and applications of behavioural economics in busine ss decision- making and risk taking; and is a regular columnist in the financial press. His work is highly focused and concentrates on solu tions and offering practical advice to decision makers on how to under stand the big trends in business and finance; and how our own bia ses and behaviours affect the way we either succeed or fail in new environments. His aim is to educate people to under stand how they and others approach future challenges and how they can improve their performance as individuals and as groups. Gerald is Managing Director of St. Mawgan & Co (www.stmawgan.com) which he co-founded in 2001, a London based consultancy specialising in risk management, strate gy consulting, and behavioural finance modelling in finance, business decision making and risk taking. He has over thirty years experience in internationa l financial markets, having worked for Baring Brothers in London and Hong Kong, and the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switze rland. Gerald is a Visiting Fellow at Newcastle Business School and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
Dr Simon O'Leary , is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Energy Institute and of the Higher Education Academ y. He has over 20 years international business experience acr oss multiple functions: R&D, Production, Marketing, Sales, Busin ess Development & Strategy; his extensive management ex perience includes working for Exxon, Burmah Castrol, Pfizer, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, in the energy, chemicals and li fe science sectors.
