English Language Centre accommodation

No matter the duration of your studies as an English Language Centre student, we have a range of accommodation options, both on and off campus, to suit your needs.

On-campus accommodation

Our on-campus accommodation is located at our beautiful Regent's Park campus, nestled in the leafy southwest corner of The Regent's Park and a stone's throw away from London's West End.

Reid Hall

Reid Hall is the main campus dormitory and houses 224 students in a mix of single, twin and triple rooms over four floors. Each floor has three communal bathroom facilities and, while the rooms include meal credit to be used in the University's range of dining outlets, there is also a pantry on each floor, providing you with access to a kettle, sink, and microwave. For more information on meal credit, please see below.

The Hall also contains a launderette which is located on the second floor, and a reception which is staffed 24 hours a day. The campus itself maintains a 24-hour security presence, ensuring a safe and comfortable stay.

Autumn 2020/Spring 2021

Reid Hall Large Single Room £420 a week, food* included
Reid Hall Medium Single Room £340 a week, food* included
Reid Hall Small Single Room £325 a week, food* included

*Prices are per person, per week and include £90 of meal credit. The meal credit that is included in the on-campus housing fees is put on your ID card. It does not guarantee you three meals a day, seven days a week; it is just like having cash and you must budget to make it last. If it runs out you can always add more or use cash.

To minimise the risk of Covid-19, and to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we have introduced a number of measures:

  • All students will be accommodated in single rooms
  • Each student will have a specific bathroom allocated to them, bathrooms will not be shared
  • Frequent cleaning and ventilation in all communal areas
  • Hand sanitiser widely available in Reid Hall

Homestay

ELC off-campus accommodation cont.

In homestays, students can experience a British way of life while they study. The homestays are conveniently located, close to public transport and offer a high standard of accommodation. Students can socialise and eat with their host(s) and can benefit from the chance to practise their English. Hosts are selected for their friendliness and homes must meet the British Council and English UK standards.

In order to be matched with the right host it is advisable to book well in advance and inform us of any requirements (e.g. dietary/medical requirements, whether you smoke, and whether you’d like a family with children or pets) by completing the off-campus accommodation request form.

If you choose to live off campus and use public transport to travel to Regent’s to attend classes, we would recommend that you buy a weekly travelcard from Transport for London (TfL).

London is split into nine fare zones, and the cost of your travel card will depend on where your accommodation is located. Regent’s University London is in Zone 1 (central London), so any travel card you purchase will need to cover the cost of travel between Zone 1 and the zone you live in.
