Matthias’s career started with Siemens in Germany before he switched to Higher Education (HE) in 1998. He holds a Master's degree in Japanese studies, intercultural communication and psychology, and previously enjoyed careers roles at Munich University, London Business School and London Metropolitan University's Business School. Alongside his work at Regent’s, he is an elected Trustee of the University – and externally he is also Chair of the Placements in Industry Network (PlaceNet) which leads the UK debate on improving student and graduate employability.
Julian’s 34 years’ careers experience spans Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Management Consultancy, Outplacement, Charities and Social Enterprise. In addition to supporting entrepreneurial students and alumni to set up in business under the Tier 1 Visa Scheme, he coaches others to launch their careers and often draws on his personal network to create collaborations. His wide connections pool often generates work experience, internships, dissertation topics and consultancy projects for our students and alumni.
With a BSc in Psychology degree and Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG), Veejay has worked in Education for 10 years and at Regent’s since 2013. Working one-to-one as well as running some of our workshops, Veejay excels at tailoring information, advice and guidance to help students and graduates research sectors, companies and job roles - and then secure interesting placements and decent employment opportunities, in the UK and abroad. She is currently also studying for an MA in Careers Development and Coaching Studies at the University of Warwick.
Luisa joined the team in 2013, bringing with her extensive experience in HE careers and graduate placement projects from the public, private and voluntary (NGO) sectors. Multilingual and having lived and worked in different countries across Europe and South America, she is brilliantly equipped to advise Regent’s international students who come from all over the world. Luisa is particularly interested in the impact of intercultural issues and diversity in careers and enjoys applying narrative and mindfulness techniques to support her clients’ personal development and autonomy.
Anna runs our Placement Learning Project (PLP) where, as part of their course, students undertake a 16 week placement in industry. She teaches them one-to-one and via group workshops about CVs, Cover Letters, Application Forms and Interview technique. Anna was previously a Careers Adviser at BPP; St George's, University of London; the University of Essex; and several schools and colleges. Earlier commercial experience spans Morgan Stanley, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bank of Ireland, and she has the industry recognised CGQ as well as a degree in Psychology.
Shirley joined the Careers & Business Relations team in March 2016 as the Placements Administrator. She has a PGDip in Human Resources and has solid experience in HR, education and governance in both the private and public sectors. Shirley supports RSPP students going on placements as part of their postgraduate degree programmes as well as assisting with careers related queries.
