Bloomsbury Fashion Scholarship

For students on the MA International Fashion Marketing programme

Overview

The scholarship is offered in partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing Plc and includes an internship and mentoring from Bloomsbury, plus access to a wealth of digital archive resources.

Bloomsbury is a leading publisher in the field of fashion. Bloomsbury offers over 235 titles in fashion, from cutting-edge academic reference and monographs written by leading scholars to accessible, student-friendly textbooks.

  • £4,000 towards fees for one standard programme duration  

  • An internship working in the fashion books marketing department of Bloomsbury Visual Arts, part of Bloomsbury’s academic division  

  • Regular mentoring from the marketing manager in Bloomsbury’s Visual Arts department  

  • Free access to the award-winning Bloomsbury Fashion Central website 

  • A leading role in fashion-related events at Regent’s

Criteria 

  • You must hold at least an upper second class (2:1) UK honours undergraduate degree (or its international equivalent from a recognised institution) 

  • Complete and submit the task set out in the ‘How to apply’ tab

This scholarship is awarded through competition, please complete the following task(s) and submit your entry using the application form under the 'Apply here' tab. 

1. Submit a 1,000 word essay 

Please submit a 1,000 word essay on the following topic:  

  • How can Bloomsbury enhance the marketing of its fashion publications?  

Include in your report:  

  • Suggestions about how the user journey on the Bloomsbury Publishing website can be improved 
  • A SWOT analysis for Bloomsbury  
  • Analysis of where Bloomsbury is placed in the market as a brand compared with its competitors  
  • Analysis of how Bloomsbury has positioned itself against its competitors 

If your application is shortlisted

If shortlisted, you will be invited to interview (face-to-face or Skype) with senior members of staff at Regent’s and Bloomsbury. You will be asked to present the pertinent points from your essay and answer other interview questions.
