We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and intelligent PhD candidates to work on two research projects which will receive funding support. Regent’s University London offers up to six scholarships worth a minimum of £5,000 per year for PhD candidates in a range of subjects.

We are inviting applications from those interested in the following scholarship projects:

  1. Developing a manualised integrative model of counselling and psychotherapy for anxiety and depression to meet the NICE guidelines for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). This project will develop an integrative model and will be supervised by Professor John Nuttall and Dr Michael Worrell at Regent’s University London and another academic from Northampton University.
  2. Validity of sexual disorder (paraphilia) diagnosis. This project will be supervised by Dr Maria Luca and Dr Marina Rachitskiy and another academic from Northampton University.


Deadline: Applications should be submitted to by email to Dr Maria Luca and received by 5pm on 30 November 2018.

Interviews for the scholarship will take place on 12 December 2018.

Please complete the application form indicating the project you are applying for together with a research proposal of up to 1,500 words providing background literature on the topic, research methods proposed and approach.

The successful scholarship candidates selected will be required to submit a PhD application with Northampton/Regent's University London by 30 January 2019.

Interviews will take place in February 2019. If a formal offer is made, the successful candidates can then register in March and attend the compulsory induction for PhD students at Northampton University from 4 to 8 March 2019 inclusive.
