The Monmouth University Library is a recognised regional information centre with over 248,000 books and 1,300 periodicals. Its Web pages include general information, a link to its Web-based catalog, and many electronic research sources, including journal databases, government Web sites, and other sources that provide access to thousands of periodical titles. The Guggenheim mansion, a wing of the Library, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The dining service at Monmouth provides breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dining options at a number of locations on campus. These locations include the Rebecca Stafford Food Court, Raising Cane’s, Magill Commons residential restaurant, Shadows, Java City, Bey Hall Express, Hawk’s Nest Convenience Store and the Café at the Library.

Special orientation sessions are conducted each semester to assist new international students. The Office of International Student Services also assists international students with all matters of special concern including: immigration, visas, practical training, change of status, advising, counseling, housing, homesickness, culture shock, obtaining a driver’s license and social security card, on-campus employment, and informs students of their rights and responsibilities. The office works with other administrative offices and academic departments on campus to ensure a smooth adjustment and transition for students.
The normal course load (in the semester system) is 15 credits per semester (=5 courses) for undergraduates and 9 credits for graduate students. An average class will have 20 to 25 students. Classes usually begin on time, and it is considered disrespectful to arrive after the class has begun. The atmosphere is usually informal and fairly relaxed. In many classes, students are not only encouraged to participate in classroom discussion, they are also expected to do so. Attendance may also be included in your final grade.
Acting and World Theatre Students:
You must choose a minimum of 3 courses or equivalent of 12 US credits from courses approved by your Head of Programme.
International Business and International Events Management Students:
You must enrol for 15 US credits (approx. 4 – 5 courses).
The courses you choose must be approved by your Head of Programme.

Monmouth's campus is a five-minute drive from the Atlantic Ocean in West Long Branch, New Jersey, and is convenient to New York City and Philadelphia, as well as plentiful local attractions. The 156-acre campus features 54 buildings, including historic landmarks and state-of-the-art facilities.
Transportation in New Jersey utilises a combination of road, rail, air, and water modes. New Jersey is situated between Philadelphia and New York City, two major metropolitan centers of the Boston-Washington megalopolis, making it a regional corridor for transportation.

A variety of housing options exist on campus at Monmouth University.
On-campus housing for Monmouth University Students is on a first-come, first-served basis for undergraduate students with a number of spaces reserved for international undergraduate students.
Monmouth's resident students live in traditional residence halls, seven suite-style buildings, and three apartment complexes. In the traditional residence halls, two students typically share a room and each floor shares bathroom and shower facilities. In the suites there are typically four bedrooms off a common living room. Each suite has its own restroom and shower. Apartments on campus have a full kitchen and most have a washer and dryer.
All campus housing units are wired for cable TV, private telephones, and computer access. Each hall is staffed by professional hall directors or resident assistants who are trained to assist students and provide information about campus activities and programs.

Students who have been nominated to study at Monmouth University will be sent an application pack via email the semester before they are due to start their SPA.
You must provide evidence of having an appropriate health insurance. This is usually required at the time of submitting your application.
Please note: Monmouth partially covers students via an accident insurance plan which insures for accidents on campus. Other medical needs must be covered; New Jersey State law requires all full-time undergraduate students be covered by hospitalization insurance. Students will be asked to provide proof of such coverage or will automatically be billed and enrolled in the Monmouth University's group plan.
