Regent's placements

At Regent’s, we believe in the transformative power of learning by doing. That’s why every undergraduate course includes the opportunity to complete a placement module, ensuring you gain hands-on experience in a real-world professional environment.

Placements are designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace, so you can test your knowledge, grow your confidence, and gain the industry insights that will shape your future.

How it works

If you choose a placement module in your second year, you’ll spend one full term working with a London-based company in a role aligned to your future goals. You’ll either:

  • Secure your own placement (subject to approval and not applicable to one-term study abroad students)
  • Or be matched with a company through our specialist partner, Impact

This flexible approach ensures your placement experience is tailored to your interests and career aspirations.

What you need to know

  • Time commitment: 7 hours per week (typically 4 hours in-office and 3 hours remote)
  • Support: dedicated supervisor at your placement company and regular check-ins
  • Peer group: you’ll be placed alongside two other Regent’s students for added support
  • Academic guidance: weekly mandatory on-campus sessions with your academic tutor to support your learning and assessment

Why it matters

Regent’s placements are designed to kick-start your professional journey. You’ll leave with:

  • Enhanced experience for your CV
  • Real-world industry knowledge before you graduate
  • A clearer sense of career direction
  • Improved confidence and communication skills

Many students use their placement to explore new opportunities, discover potential career paths, and build valuable networks that last beyond their time at Regent’s.

Please note: placements are unpaid, as they're completed as part of the academic course.
