Students presenting in Luxury Lab

Luxury Lab

The Luxury Lab at Regent’s is designed to connect the brightest minds with the world’s leading luxury brands. It’s a consultancy-style programme where learning meets industry, and where postgraduate students gain unrivalled access to C-suite leaders, real-world challenges, and career-defining opportunities.

Where education meets industry

We believe in the transformative power of learning by doing, because we think students learn best when they’re actively engaged, genuinely challenged to dig deeply, solve real problems, and connect what they’re learning in the classroom with what’s happening in the world around them.

That’s why we created Luxury Lab – an extra curriculum, consultancy-style programme that gives selected postgraduate students the chance to work directly with C-suite leaders of world-renowned luxury brands, such as Estée Lauder Companies, Fortnum & Mason and Laurent-Perrier UK on live, strategic challenges.

Students work in small teams to develop ideas and solutions that address real-world problems facing luxury brands today. Their results have consistently impressed industry leaders at the highest levels. Emmanuelle Noyer, Former VP General Manager, Estée Lauder Companies, commented:

'Partnering with Regent’s for the Luxury Lab has been such a unique experience. From briefing to presentations, these talented selected students have genuinely impressed me. Not only did they understand our brand, and the market we compete in, their final proposals were spot on and so inspiring. We now have a plan that we're confident will deliver increased brand awareness and revenue.'

The power of real-world experience

At Regent’s, we’re committed to preparing our students for the realities of the industries they'll shape. Luxury Lab gives students the chance to:

  • Present strategic recommendations to C-suite leaders
  • Build confidence in high-level communication and presentation
  • Develop analytical, research and consulting skills
  • Network with high-level leaders across the luxury sector
  • Gain first-hand insight into the business of luxury

Emma Fox, CEO of Berry Bros. & Rudd emphasised the impact of this experience, noting: ‘We're looking for anything that gives somebody an edge. It’s crucial that they come in with an understanding of what the business world is like, and what the expectations are, so they can give more of themselves earlier on.’

What to expect

The programme is highly competitive, with all students applying for a position and being selected by Regent’s senior leadership and academics. Running every term, the projects bring new brands, fresh challenges and new student teams. Each cycle centres on three core elements:

Live briefs: Brands present real strategic challenges to students, providing students with the chance to generate actionable insights that matter to industry leaders.

Collaboration: Students work in small teams drawn from selected Master’s programmes, combining skills, perspectives and creativity to generate powerful solutions.

Presentation: Projects culminate in formal presentations to leading luxury companies, giving students first-hand experience of operating at boardroom level.

What our students say

Our students often describe the Luxury Lab as the highlight of their Master’s journey:

Elke Maree, MA International Fashion Marketing alumna and now Merchandising Assistant at dunhill, reflected: ‘What made our Luxury Lab projects so valuable was the environment it created – both challenging and safe. While it closely simulated real-life work experiences, it also gave me the space to experiment, take risks, and learn. Now that I’m working, I can see just how aligned our projects were with actual industry standards. It has definitely made me feel more confident at work.’

Kavya Lalit Chatnani, MA Luxury Brand Management student, said: ‘Because the industry is so competitive, the only way to stand out is to have real-life experience. The Luxury Lab has been extremely valuable and gave me the opportunity to work on a live project with Penhaligon’s, which opened the door to my first role at Dom Pérignon champagne, which I'll start when I complete my course.’

Ella Maltzman, MA International Fashion Marketing student, expressed: ‘I can confidently say that the Luxury Lab was the highlight of my Master’s experience. I had never presented to a C-suite before, and while the thought of it was daunting, the project was so rewarding. The executives were welcoming, encouraging and thoughtful throughout, and I know I'll stay in touch with them in the future. I’m really grateful to Regent’s for bringing us together and facilitating the project.’

Liz Hemberg, MSc Digital Marketing and Analytics alumna, now Political Liaison at Flip USA noted: ‘Being able to say that we’ve sat down in front of the CEO of Fortnum & Mason and presented something that we’re really proud of has built my confidence going forward and led me to secure my role after graduation.’

A space for innovation

Luxury Lab is more than just a project – it’s a platform for collaboration between current leaders in luxury and the Gen Z leaders of tomorrow.

Emma Fox sums it up perfectly: ‘The Luxury Lab is an opportunity too good to miss. We posed a real challenge we're facing to a group of highly educated, really curious, diverse students because I felt we'd go further as a business by understanding the Gen Z perspective.’

With every term the lab sparks fresh insights, builds new partnerships and helps shape the careers of our students – ensuring they leave Regent’s ready to make their mark in the world of luxury.
