General entry requirements
Personal statement
Your personal statement should consider the following:
- Why do you want to study this course or subject? (minimum 50 words)
- How have your qualifications and studies helped you to prepare for this course or subject? (minimum 50 words)
- What else have you done to prepare outside of education, and why are these experiences useful? (minimum 50 words)
English language requirements
You will need to meet a minimum English language requirement, and we accept a range of qualifications to evidence this. Please see the section below on this page for details.
If you do not have a relevant English qualification, we also offer a free English proficiency test to all Regent's offer holders.
Academic requirements
Integrated Foundation (Level 3)
Minimum 56 UCAS points or international equivalent as outlined below and deemed accepted by Admissions and UK ENIC.

Undergraduate (Level 4)
Minimum 96 UCAS points / A level grades CCC or international equivalent as outlined below and deemed accepted by Admissions and UK ENIC.
Some courses require 64 UCAS points / A level grades CC, and some may also require an interview, audition or portfolio review. Please check the specific course page for further details.

Postgraduate (Level 7)
Minimum second-class UK undergraduate degree.

Information about English language requirements
All applicants are required to provide proof of English language proficiency on the CEFR (Common European Framework) scale, regardless of your nationality.
The grading system varies depending on level of study. See the dropdowns below for details.

English certificates are subject to validity checks and approval by Admissions.
1. The Regent’s English test, Password Skills Plus, which is free of change for conditional offer holders:

As fewer students submit these tests, please check the requirements for them with our Admissions team.
If you do not have the required grades for direct entry on to your degree programme, our pre-sessional English and Foundation courses can help you to achieve this level.
Guidance for native English speakers
UK or USA nationals are also required to provide proof of English proficiency with any of the below. The documents listed do not have an expiry date and will require validation by the Admissions department.
United Kingdom
- GCSE – Grade 4 (new grading system) or Grade C (previous grading system)
- A Levels – English Language or English Literature, Grade D
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from the United Kingdom
United States of America
- High School Diploma (Grade 11 and above) – 70% / Grade D
- AP, SAT or ACT English (please provide your score report for validation)

Applying from Pakistan, Afghanistan or Nepal
You will need to provide proof of English proficiency by taking an acceptable Secure English Test (SELT). Please see UKVI guidelines for more information. Acceptable tests include: IELTS Academic, PTE Academic, LangCert Academic or PSI which meets our minimum entry requirements, or a regional English qualification we accept. Please note we do not accept home edition of tests.
