Professional Biography

Amelia qualified as a UKCP registered psychotherapist in 2010 and has practised both privately and publicly within the NHS. Most recently, she held a post as a clinical lead, providing assessments, therapy and supervision within a GP surgery. Amelia's private practice is now in Hampstead, London.

  • Short Term Existential Psychotherapy delivered in GP practice – two case studies presented at SEA annual conference entitled: Naked and Dangerous, 12 November 2017
  • An exploration of how short -term therapy can reach ‘the naked and dangerous’ aspects of a client, published in SEA journal vol. (29.1)

Research Interests

  • Involved in collating and presenting research into the effectiveness of short-term existential therapy within the NHS, particularly as a comparison to the IAPT service.
  • Research interests include the effectiveness of psychotherapy in practice; the comparative benefits of different modalities as delivered to patients within the NHS.
